Results 2005-2006 League Week 11

The top two met in Division I, and in a nail-biting finish Broken Hearts held off a late surge to beat League leaders Allsorts by a point. Their win certainly keeps the title race alive going into the New Year. Third placed Atletico are also still in the hunt, as they steadily drew away from Belly in the Streatham derby to record a comfortable win. Chester Army stay in fourth place, with a win against Barbican. Another close game in the Priory derby, with Animals just edging out Priory Nomads. Top scorer in the Division was Mick Lancaster of Belly with 18 points. As we enter the Christmas break, Allsorts are assured of a place in the top four for the end of season play-offs, and seem likely to be joined by Broken Hearts and Atletico. Barbican and Belly will be in the bottom four, so the remaining top four place will be between Chester Army, Animals and Priory Nomads.

There was a top v. bottom clash in Division II, and Uncosy stay top following their victory against Accrington Cylindricals. Aldersgate returned to winning ways, defeating Rosslyn Park, despite only having two players, and stay in second place. Waterloo Sunset, with three players, also came back from the previous week's set-back with a win over Telstars to stay third. In the week's other game Ovalytes had a narrow win over London Scottish. The week's top scorer was Ray Ward of Waterloo Sunset, with 22 points, only the second time this season that a Division II player has had the week's best score. At this stage Uncosy and Aldersgate must be favourites for promotion, but any of the next three (Waterloo Sunset, Bread & Roses and Ovalytes) must still be in with a chance.
