Results 2006-2007 League Week 16

There was a titanic struggle at the top of Division I, where reigning Champions Allsorts, inspired by a bravura performance from Gavin Fuller, defeated previously unbeaten league leaders Broken Hearts. Broken Hearts remain top despite their defeat, and if they win their 2 remaining games they will be Champions. At the other end of the table Chester Army's win dooms Waterloo Sunset to relegation, and leaves Chester Army almost safe. Uncosy stay bottom after a defeat by Priory Nomads, who had all 4 players in double figures and remain in third place. To survive Uncosy must win their last two games and hope Chester Army lose theirs, then beat Chester Army in a play-off. In the week's other game Atletico's abysmal league form continued with defeat to in-form Aldersgate. In 4 out of 5 Atletico games this year the game has come down to the last pair of questions, and each time Atletico has failed to win. Top scorer was Gavin Fuller of Allsorts with an impressive 26 points.

In Division II Barb clinched the promotion and the title with a narrow win over Pineapple, after Donald Yule rose from his sick bed to take part. Second placed Ovalytes stayed in the promotion race with a comfortable win over London Scottish, as did third placed Telstars who saw off Rosslyn Park without too much problem. Much will now depend on the result of next week's clash between Ovalytes and Telstars. A win for Ovalytes would see them promoted, while a win for Telstars would mean a victory in their final game against Accrington Cylindricals would see them go up. In the other game Belly had a close win over Accrington Cylindricals to stay firmly in mid-table. This game saw the top scorer in the Division, as Mick Lancaster of Belly accumulated 22 points.
