A good week to be at home
The first set of President's Cup matches of the year resulted in three resounding home victories. Given that the matches are usually much closer, this may say something about the question set : those who took part will have drawn their own conclusions. The good news is that the battle for the league title is now even more wide open than it was before. Beds & Herts reached the dizzy height of top of the table by beating previous leaders Sussex. Oxford moved to within a point of the lead by defeating London, who are finding this year’s competition a very different experience from their all conquering exploits last time. Finally Mastermind Club enhanced their championship prospects at the expense of Cambridge who remain anchored to the foot of the table.
The next set of matches will take place on January 31st with Beds & Herts, Cambridge and Mastermind Club playing host.
